Abstract |
A search for the single production of doubly-charged Higgs bosons H^{\pm
\pm}_{L,R} is performed in the framework of models in which a Higgs
triplet is coupled to leptons of the i'th and j'th generation via Yukawa
couplings h^{L,R}_{ij}. The signal is searched for via the decays of the
doubly-charged Higgs to like-sign electron, muon, or tau pairs and the LFV
decays into electron-muon or electron-tau pairs, using the H1 detector at
HERA.
Data samples of e^\pm p collisions were analysed which correspond to up
to 118 pb^{-1}.
We observe no evidence for doubly-charged
Higgs production and derive limits on the h_{ee}^{L,R} and h_{e mu}^{L,R}
Yukawa couplings as a function of the H^{\pm\pm}_{L,R} mass. Assuming that
the doubly-charged Higgs only decays to electrons, we set a lower limit of
about 139 GeV on the H^{\pm\pm}_{L,R} mass for a value h_{ee}^{L,R} = 0.3
corresponding to a coupling of electromagnetic strength. Assuming that the
doubly-charged Higgs only decays to electron-muon (electron-tau), we set a
lower limit of about 140 GeV (116 GeV )on the H^{\pm\pm}_{L,R} mass for a
coupling value h_{e mu}^{L,R} = 0.3 (h_{e tau}^{L,R} = 0.3). |
