Combination of F_2^{cc} from H1 and ZEUS measurements |

| Abstract |
The combination of recent results on the extraction of charm contribution,
F_2^{cc}, to the inclusive proton structure function F_2 in deep inelastic
scattering at HERA is presented. HERA-2 measurements of both H1 and ZEUS
experiments are used, with charm quarks either being identified by
reconstructed D mesons, by muons from semi-leptonic charm decays, or by the
long lifetime and large mass of charmed hadrons. The combination procedure
accounts for proper correlations of the experimental systematic uncertainties
of the measurements as well as theory uncertainties which leads to an improved
precision. |
