| Abstract |
A new measurement of the inclusive $ep$ scattering cross section is presented
in the region of four-momentum transfers squared,
$12$\,GeV$^2$ $\leq Q^2 \leq 150$\,GeV$^2$, and Bjorken $x$,
$1.3 dot 10^{-4} \lesssim x \lesssim 0.15$.
The results are based on the data set collected by the H1
Collaboration at HERA at a centre of mass energy of
$\sqrt{s} = 320$\,GeV. The accuracy of the new measurement is
significantly improved with respect to the previously published
and typically in the range of $1 - 2\%$.
The cross section measurement provides new data on the proton structure
function $F_2(x,Q^2)$ and is compared to predictions from perturbative
