| Abstract |
An inclusive measurement of the diffractive DIS process ep -> eXY is presented, where Y is a proton or a low mass proton excitation carrying a fraction 1 - x_pom > 0.95 of the beam longitudinal momentum. The measurement covers the region 0.5 < Q^2 < 100 GeV^2. The x_pom dependence of the data is interpreted in terms of a measurement of the effective pomeron intercept alpha_pom(0) and the beta and Q^2 dependences are subjected to a DGLAP fit to extract diffractive parton densities. Models based on the elastic scattering from the proton of q-qbar and q-qbar-g fluctuations of the photon are also compared with the data. |
